"School's Out"
I painted this one in a junkyard in
Cheyenne in 2010, and it won
People's Choice in the plein air event.
It was quite fun being in a junkyard
with my paints in hand! |
For those of you who may not know me, I'm an artist here in Paris who loves to paint both in the open air (plein air) and in my studio and am venturing out and learning all about blogging! It may take me a while to conquer this thing, but I hope you'll hang in there and join me and follow me! I wanted to share a few of the paintings I did in the Plein Air events of the past 2 summers in Cheyenne, Wyoming. "Plein Air" is a French term meaning "in the open air", so these were painted on location in a period of a few hours. I love to travel and usually find places to stop and paint. We take the camper out west in the summer and my husband, Laurien will fish and I'll paint - works out pretty well!
Occasionally I'll post my new works, so I'd love it if you'd check back with me from time to time and see what I've been up to with my paints and brushes! I'd also love it if you would subscribe to my blog and keep up with my new paintings as I get them done. To do so just click on "subscribe". Thanks!

How exciting. I'd love to hear about your thought processes when you decide what to paint. I have a hard time when outside painting, narrowing down the area that I want to paint. As a result, I take on too much...loosing the ability to interpet a scene on canvas (WHICH IS YOUR SPECIALITY) I'll be following your blog with great interest.
