Well, a hectic week has passed and now I can get back in touch. Did everyone enjoy the touch of winter we had the other day??? I for one like the fact that we have 4 seasons, but don't like slipping on ice!
Helping Hand is in full swing now and I hope you are listening in, visiting the Enoch Building at the fairgrounds for the live auction, or calling in your bids at 731-642-1695. The auction goes on daily beginning at 12:30 on a.m. radio 710, WTPR. There have been some really nice items up for bids so don't miss out!
I have a new painting as I promised. This is a painting of an old barn on the Elkins' property near Hazel, KY, not far from Paris. I was driving by one day this fall and spotted it and just knew it would make a painting. The Elkins were nearby and graciously gave me permission to photograph it. I painted it a few weeks ago and just wanted you to see what picturesque scenes are in our territory. Don't know about you but I love the old barns that are still around here and there, and I like to get them recorded before they disappear. It's a part of Americana that unfortunately is slowly going by the wayside. It's on display at Merison's now, as well as the works of several of us local artists, so please go by and view them in person! You won't be disappointed.
